You Can Help

In the wake of the most devastating disaster our community has ever experienced, many owners of Vacation Rentals answered the call for help and transitioned their rental properties into long-term rentals to house fire victims.

If you are a Vacation Rental owner who has made your home available to fire victims, we thank you for offering a roof to those who no longer have one. Your ongoing help to house our displaced neighbors will continue to make a difference throughout our community.

If you have been considering making your rental home available to fire victims, we would like to encourage you do so now. With over 5,000 residential units destroyed, our goal is to provide safe, immediate, transitional, and long-term housing to assist displaced residents and stabilize the immediate housing crisis our community faces.

Important Exemptions

Vacation Rental owners who make their homes available to residents for 30 days or longer will be exempt from:

• Paying the 2018 Annual Monitoring Fee
• Collecting Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) (however, a tax return must still be filed even if filing zero)
• Meeting the January 1, 2018 Property Manager Certification deadline

Please note transitioning your vacation rental property to long-term use will not jeopardize your ability to resume operation of your vacation rental in the future.
