Sonoma County Announces Open Burning Suspension
The California Department ofForestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has announced the burn ban suspension,beginning 12:01 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, and bans all outdoor burning exceptfor campfires within organized campgrounds or on private property withlandowner permission. The suspension of burn permits is implemented in responseto the extremely high fire hazard conditions. Read full story
Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Approves Updated Septic System Regulations
On June 11, 2019, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors took action to meet State mandated septic system regulations that protect water quality and public health. Community Rises to Housing Challenge
We hear you! Thanks toeveryone that responded to the County’s request for help in identifyingpotential sites in unincorporated areas to rezone for housing. As of 1/4/19, wereceived submissions for 42 parcels to evaluate for rezoning. Of those parcelsin the unincorporated area, there is a total of about 100 acres with apotential for approximately 2,000 new housing units. Read full story
