WLS-057 Well Site Plan Requirements

Purpose

To provide minimum site plan requirements for well construction permit applications.

Well Site Plans

Plans shall be compiled into one PDF document and shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the nature and extent of the work proposed and demonstrate the proposed work will comply with Sonoma County Code requirements and all relevant laws, ordinances, regulations, and conditions of approval.
Plans shall include all applicable items listed below. Additional information may be required by plan review staff to ensure compliance with Sonoma County Code or to clarify the nature and extent of the work proposed.

  1. Cover Sheet
    1. Name of project
    2. Site address(es)
    3. Vicinity map, location map and site access path(s)
    4. Assessor’s Parcel Number(s)
    5. Project description identifying proposed scope of work
    6. Property owner name and contact information
    7. Well drilling professional name and contact information
    8. Well contractor license number and signature
    9. Sheet Index
  2. General Items
    1. Date plans prepared and subsequent revision dates
    2. Sheet number in lower right corner (example: Sheet 1 of 3)
    3. Space for approval stamps in lower right corner
    4. Drawn to an engineering scale (example:  1 inch = 40 feet, 1 inch = 100 feet, etc.)
    5. North arrow and scale (written & graphic)
    6. Legend and list of abbreviations
    7. All proposed and existing wells identified with GPS coordinates.
    8. Location and disclosure information regarding existing wells on the property in accordance with 25B-5(c) Disclosure of Existing Water Wells
    9. All applicable features and setbacks from Sonoma County Code Chapter 25B Table 25B-2 identified and dimensioned
    10. Existing and proposed structures, water bodies or features, septic systems and related components, and known contaminated sites
    11. Specifications and details for proposed work
    12. Construction notes
    13. Property lines, easements, and rights-of-ways
