Historic Preservation Grants Application Deadline Extended to February 28, 2019

Apply Now! Applications are now being accepted for Category D (Historical Commissions) grants. Grant funds in this category are for the renovation, restoration, and/or preservation of historical resources. First priority for grants is given to government agencies or non-profits.  Applications that include matching funds or contributions are more competitive. The County will award a total of approximately $50,000 this year.  Funds are typically allocated among several grant projects.

Eligible properties must:

  • Be located within the Historic District (HD) Combining Zone; or
  • Designated a County Landmark, or listed at the State or National level; and
  • Provide for public access (such as a park, community building, restaurant, B & B Inn, etc.); and
  • Provide a public benefit and make a lasting contribution to the cultural heritage of the County.
