Overnight Accommodations in Agricultural Zones
The County allows certain overnight accommodations that provide additional income opportunities for farm operators, while ensuring consistency with the General Plan. These accommodations area allowed in all agriculture zonings including Land Intensive Agriculture (LIA) zones, Diverse Agriculture (DA) zones, and Land Extensive Agriculture (LEA) zones.
Farmstays
Farmstays are overnight accommodations that take place on a working farm. Farmstays can be in the main home or within a legal dwelling other than the main home. They must be directly related to agriculture and must promote agricultural products. Properties that have multiple agricultural enterprises are allowed one farmstay per enterprise. Farmstay applications require an Agricultural Promotion Plan with the farmstay application.

Marketing Accommodations
Private marketing accommodations for use by distributors, investors, partners, and owners of the processing facility for short term occupancy related to the agricultural operation. Marketing accommodations cannot exceed 640 square feet and they cannot have a kitchen. No more than two marketing accommodations are allowed for each agricultural enterprise.
Hosted Rentals
Hosted rentals are the rental of a single room or sleeping area within a single-family dwelling or guest house, where the property owner remains in residence on the property. Hosted rentals are allowed in all agriculture zonings including the Land Intensive Agriculture (LIA) zone, the Diverse Agriculture (DA) zone, and the Land Extensive Agriculture (LEA) zone.
Vacation Rentals
Vacation rentals are allowed in Diverse Agriculture (DA) zones and Land Extensive Agriculture (LEA) zones. Existing permitted vacation rentals in Land Intensive Agriculture (LIA) zone are recognized and the permits will run with the land with a minor use permit. No new vacation rental permits are allowed in the LIA zone.
