Property Sales Inspections (AB 38)
When selling a property in the State Responsibility Area (SRA) that is located in designated High or Very High Fire Severity Zones, the seller must provide buyers with documentation that the property complies with defensible space requirements.
Learn about whether a property is in the SRA and a designated High or Very High Fire Severity Zone.
Properties are required to comply with the County Code Chapter 13A Hazardous Vegetation and Combustible Material Ordinance. If an assessment has been conducted by Sonoma County Fire Prevention within the prior 6 months of the time of the sale, the assessment is considered valid.
A property owner can request an inspection be done by our Fire Prevention Division for a fee.
