Flood ManagementDesign Manual (FMDM) Announcement

Sonoma Water’s Board of Directors adopted a resolution approving the Flood Management Design Manual (FMDM) to provide guidance and criteria for the conveyance of storm water. The FMDM is a significant update to the existing criteria and will replace the current Sonoma County Water Agency Flood Control Design Criteria (FCDC).

Storm Water Protections During Construction

The Water Board mandates that contractors meet specific storm water construction practices to prevent harmful pollutants from entering our watershed. Sonoma County is required by our permit from the Water Board to enforce compliance with these requirements. The County has been working with contractors in Larkfield and Mark West areas since August to get voluntary compliance and to notify them of the requirements.
