Public Safety

The Public Safety Element of the Sonoma County General Plan is intended to protect the community from unreasonable risks from natural hazards.

The Sonoma County Hazard Mitigation Plan is incorporated into the Safety Element by reference. The Board of Supervisors adopted an update to the Hazard Mitigation Plan on December 7, 2021. The 2021 Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was prepared in coordination with local cities and special districts within the County.
