OWTS Manual Update May 22 2024

Published: August 11, 2023

On June 4, 2024, Permit Sonoma will be seeking the Board of Supervisor’s authorization to submit a Local Agency Management Program to the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board. The State’s OWTS Policy requires each jurisdiction to apply to the Regional Water Board in order to implement a local program for the regulation of onsite wastewater treatment systems (aka septic systems). The County’s OWTS Manual contains the local polices for regulating OWTS, while the LAMP is the application to operate a local program. The County of Sonoma is pleased to release the latest draft of our Onsite Wastewater Treatment (OWTS) Manual. We will be holding Zoom meetings the week of May 20, 2024, to receive public input and comment.
