Changes to Encroachment & Septic Permit Fee Process

As of July 12, 2019, Permit Sonoma will be changing how fees are assessed for encroachment permit applications and septic permit applications to be more consistent with how we assess fees for other types of similar construction permit applications.

1. Plan Review Fees: Upon acceptance of an encroachment permit application or a septic permit application, Permit Sonoma will only assess applicable plan review fees which cover the cost of staff time to review the application for compliance with county standards.
2. Permit/Inspection Fees: Upon approval of the application and prior to permit issuance, Permit Sonoma will then assess applicable permit/inspection fees which cover the cost of staff time related to implementing the permit and inspection work.
