Expanded Housing Opportunities Provide More Options for Farmers
On Tuesday, September 17, Sonoma County Board ofSupervisors removed zoning restrictions that prohibit the ability to apply toconstruct an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADUs) on over 1,900 agriculturalproperties. This action will eliminate unnecessary regulatory constraints on arecognized form of affordable housing, while continuing to protect and supportthe county’s agricultural and environmental resources. County Shuts Down Large-Scale Illegal Cannabis Operation
On July 12, County inspectors found more than 9,000 unpermitted cannabis plants at a property located on Butler Avenue, Santa Rosa. Permit Sonoma, authorized by an inspection warrant, arrived on site just after 8:30am with assistance from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Read full story

Sonoma County Announces Open Burning Suspension
The California Department ofForestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has announced the burn ban suspension,beginning 12:01 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2019, and bans all outdoor burning exceptfor campfires within organized campgrounds or on private property withlandowner permission. The suspension of burn permits is implemented in responseto the extremely high fire hazard conditions. Read full story
